A second opinion has confirmed that Beltran has just a bone bruise on his ailing right knee, ESPN reports. Recommendation: The Mets released a statement indicating Beltran will rest the knee until he is pain-free and then start him back on activity as tolerated. The confirmation of a bone bruise is good news for those relying on Beltran in the second half, but who knows when he will be pain free. Beltran's last game was June 21. |

CF Carlos Beltran got a second opinion on his ailing right knee that confirmed the bone-bruise diagnosis originally given by Mets doctors. Beltran visited Dr. Richard Steadman on Monday in Vail, Colo. As for a timetable for Beltran's return, assistant GM John Ricco said: "The All-Star break, we had hoped, maybe he'd be back before that. Right now, it looks like we're headed for after." |
