Player Notes
David Ortiz went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in Friday's loss to the Astros.

Advice: Ortiz's run-scoring two-bagger in the eighth inning knotted the score at 8-8, but the Astros would go on to score four times in the 10th inning to drop the Red Sox to a disappointing 37-45. The two runs driven in pushed Ortiz's season RBI total to 41. He's slashing .233/.321/.433, numbers that are a far cry from those in the height of his Hall of Fame caliber career. The counting stats are there, at least, as Ortiz has hit 14 homers and driven in the aforementioned 41 runs.

Fri, Jul 3 Rotoworld
David Ortiz clobbered a three-run home run in the first inning on Thursday, powering the Red Sox to a 12-6 victory over the visiting Blue Jays.

Advice: What's impressive to note is that the first inning blast came off Blue Jays' southpaw Matt Boyd. It was Big Papi's one hit in five at-bats on the night, and he also drew a walk. While he's hitting just .228/.313/.426 on the season, he now has eight homers and 18 RBI in his last 21 games.

Thu, Jul 2 Rotoworld
David Ortiz hit a solo home run in a 1-for-4 effort as the Red Sox took down the Blue Jays on Tuesday.

Advice: Ortiz made it a 4-0 game when he slugged a solo home run off of Marco Estrada in the third inning. He's gone yard in two of his last three games, giving him 13 on the year with 36 RBI and a .228/.313/.422 triple-slash line.

Tue, Jun 30 Rotoworld
David Ortiz walked and hit a two-run home run in four plate appearances Sunday as the Red Sox took down the Rays.

Advice: Ortiz made it a 4-0 game when he clubbed a two-run home run to right-center off of Chris Archer, one of three homers his team hit on the afternoon. The veteran has 12 home runs on the season, but has hit half of them in the last three and a half weeks. He has also knocked in 35 runs while batting .231/.318/.420.

Sun, Jun 28 Rotoworld
David Ortiz hit a two-run homer off Bud Norris in Boston's win Wednesday.

Advice: Ortiz has five homers in his last 13 games after hitting six in his first 52. All 11 of his homers on the season have come against righties. Southpaws have completely owned him this year, but there aren't many AL hitters with better numbers versus right-handers.
