Player Notes
David Ortiz went 1-for-3 with an RBI double in Sunday's loss to the Rays.

Advice: Ortiz's third-inning RBI double off Rays starter Jake Odorizzi pushed the Red Sox advantage to 3-1, but the boys from Tampa would chip away and ultimately prevail with a 4-3 win, dropping the Sox to a disappointing 47-59. Ortiz is hitting .246/.337/.469 with 20 homers and 59 RBI. The numbers aren't as gaudy as we're accustomed to, but he remains a productive power bat.

Sun, Aug 2 Rotoworld
Despite facing Chris Sale, David Ortiz went 3-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a walk Thursday against the White Sox.

Advice: All three hits came off Sale. Ortiz has had more success lately, but even so, he entered the game with a .162/.182/.276 line against left-handers this season. His overall average is up to .247, which is the highest it's been since early May.

Thu, Jul 30 Rotoworld
David Ortiz hit a two-run home run, his only hit in five at-bats, but the Red Sox came out on the losing end of Monday's slugfest with the White Sox.

Advice: Ortiz halved the deficit created by Joe Kelly in the first inning with his two-run home run off of John Danks, making it a 4-2 game. It's his seventh home run in the month of July and his 20th on the year along with 56 RBI and a .243/.330/.473 triple-slash line. It didn't seem possible a month ago, but Ortiz has a chance to register the ninth 30-homer season of his 20-year career.

Mon, Jul 27 Rotoworld
David Ortiz homered twice and drove home a career-high seven runs on Sunday as the Red Sox demolished the Tigers 11-1 at Fenway Park.

Advice: The veteran slugger broke a 1-1 tie with a mammoth three-run shot off Tigers starter Shane Greene in the fourth inning. He would add an RBI single in the sixth before unloading on a Neftali Feliz fastball in the seventh for his second three-run blast. He finished the night 4-for-5 with three runs scored and seven RBI, raising his season slash to .243/.332/.468 to go with 19 homers and 54 RBI.
