Hawkins threw Monday without a splint on his injured finger for the first time since breaking it May 6, the LA Times reports.
Recommendation: Hawkins continues to make good progress in his recovery and is on track to return to the Angels in early June. Expect him to be part of the Angels' seventh/eighth inning mix again once healthy.

RHP LaTroy Hawkins has begun a throwing program. But a re-examination of his fractured pinky finger still showed the fracture. Hawkins did his throwing without a split on the injured finger Monday and said "it didn't feel too good." Hawkins is expected to miss at least another two weeks.
