Next Match: away to Valladolid, May 11 Following a poor run of results since the team's Cup disappointments last month, Getafe finally look to have secured Primera Liga survival with a spirited 4-2 win over Almeria on Wednesday. The Madrid-based side had looked to be on a downward spiral after losing the Copa del Rey final to Valencia last month and crashing out of the UEFA Cup in cruel fashion to Bayern Munich. Getafe also quickly went two goals down on Wednesday against Almeria, but fought back to seal a vital win. However, the team sits only five points clear of the drop zone with two games remaining and coach Michael Laudrup says he is taking nothing for granted. "After what we have gone through this year, I can't say we're definitely safe," he said. Pablo Hernandez, Mario Alvarez and Ikechukwu Uche all look set to miss Sunday's trip to Valladolid through injury. |
