Coming into this season, the question mark for the Los Angeles Angels was pitching, specifically their made-over starting rotation. But most figured the guy the Angels didn't have to worry about was No. 1 starter Jered Weaver.

Now they do. For at least the next month. Weaver, who was injured Sunday night while dodging a comebacker, will miss 4-6 weeks with a left non-displaced radial head fracture — that's a broken elbow to you and me. Luckily for Weaver and the Angels, that's his non-pitching arm.

Weaver, 20-5 in 2012 and 18-8 in 2011, along with C.J. Wilson are the only two Angels starters who were with the team last year. Joe Blanton, Tommy Hanson and Jason Vargas, all acquired in the offseason, fill out the rotation.

Here's more, from MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez, on what the Angels might do to fill Weaver's space:

Garrett Richards, who has great stuff and is coming off a sparkling Spring Training, seems like the logical choice to take Weaver's spot in the rotation, but the 24-year-old right-hander has been working out of the bullpen. Another option, if Richards isn't stretched out enough to start, could be long reliever Jerome Williams.

Right-handed reliever Dane De La Rosa, acquired from the Rays on March 27 for righty Steven Geltz, was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake to take Weaver's roster spot, giving the Angels an extra arm in the bullpen.

The Angels (2-4) play their home opener Tuesday night against the Oakland Athletics (5-2). Wilson pitches for the Angels against Jarrod Parker for the A's.
