This offseason NFL running backs have struggled to obtain long-term contracts from their teams.

This caused Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Eckler to create a group chat with running backs from all over the league to address the challenges faced by the position according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

According to BroBible’s Dov Kleiman, the running backs also had a Zoom call on Saturday with multiple big-name running backs in attendance to discuss problems obtaining large salaries and long-term contracts while discussing strategies to alleviate those problems.

Some of the running backs on the Zoom call were Giants Saquon Barkley, Titans Derrick Henry, Raiders Josh Jacobs, Colts Jonathan Taylor, 49ers Christian McCaffrey and Cowboys Tony Pollard among others.

Jacobs, Barkley and Pollard were franchise-tagged this offseason despite seeking long-term deals and coming off productive seasons for their teams.

After all three running backs failed to get new contracts, running backs from around the league commented on their frustration with the state of their position.
