Troopers searching for hit-and-run driver, passengers that caused collision on I-5 in Seattle

Washington State Patrol troopers are searching for the person and passengers who were in a stolen BMW that struck two cars while on southbound Interstate 5 in Seattle, fled the scene in the SUV that ended up in a ditch and then jumped into a dark-colored Honda Civic to get away.

At 4:30 a.m. Monday, troopers were called to southbound I-5 near Boeing Access Road for a serious collision.

When troopers arrived, they found a Toyota Prius and Camry that were severely damaged and blocking a couple of lanes of the highway.

Troopers said a BMW X-5 struck the Camry and caused it to spin. While spinning, the Camry then struck the Prius.

The driver of the Camry suffered cuts to the face and a broken jaw, authorities said.

Troopers said the BMW fled and exited the freeway, hit a pole and landed in a ditch.

Witnesses told troopers that the BMW was speeding and possibly racing another vehicle.
