These trails have the most search and rescue calls in B.C., how to stay safe
Each year, British Columbia's search and rescue team receives over 1500 calls, and about one-third of those are from hikers in trouble.
Most of the rescues happen on B.C.'s South Coast because of the population size (more than 2.5 million people live in this region) and accessibility (most of the top hikes are right off the highway).
In the video above, The Weather Network's Mia Gordon takes us on the hike that came in at number four on the list of most calls and shares some safety tips so you can hike safely in the backcountry.
