The 21-5 Boston Celtics, holders of the NBA’s best record, may have their chief rim-protector patrolling the paint as soon as this weekend.

After team shootaround Friday, Robert Williams met with the media and, according to the Boston Globes’ Adam Himmselsbach, seemed to imply he will be on the court for the team’s NBA Finals rematch against the Warriors on Saturday.

Celtics head coach Joe Mazulla also seemingly couldn’t hold a poker face when asked of Williams’ status.

Mazulla previously told media members that William’s return was looming on December 4.

Williams underwent an arthroscopic knee procedure on the same knee that caused the 25-year-old center to miss portions of the Celtics’ playoff run and the final weeks of the regular season.

On March 30 Williams underwent a partial left knee meniscectomy after tearing the meniscus in his left knee.

Williams, averaged 10 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in a career-high 61 games for Boston last season.

The Celtics and Warriors will tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET.
