Tottenham Hotspur have signed Denmark midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton on a five-year deal with full-back Kyle Walker-Peters moving in the opposite direction on a similar contract, the Premier League clubs announced on Tuesday. Financial details of the transfer were not disclosed but British media reported that Spurs have paid Southampton an initial fee of around 15 million pounds to sign the 25-year-old Hojbjerg who had a year left on his contract.
Liverpool forward Sadio Mane and Southampton winger Moussa Djenepo have been nominated for Premier League Player and Goal of the Season, respectively. Mane was in a terrific form for the Reds in the 2019-20 campaign, helping his side to win the title for the first time in 30 years. The Senegal international scored 18 goals and provided nine assists in 35 league games, besides his other dazzling displays for Jurgen Klopp’s men.
Kevin De Bruyne, on paper, should win hands down. assists and 13 goals despite being lumbered with a sub-par Man City team who spluttered and stumbled behind Liverpool in the title race; game over, right? Well, not quite.
