For the second time in three seasons, and sixth in 10 years, Real Madrid celebrated a Champions League title with its fans on the streets of the Spanish capital. Several thousands came out Sunday to welcome the team a day after it won a record-extending 15th Champions League title by beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley Stadium. There could be even more reasons to celebrate for Madrid fans in the coming days with the club reportedly close to announcing the much-anticipated signing of Kylian Mbappé, the France star who left Paris Saint-Germain and has been targeted by the Spanish powerhouse.
Real Madrid celebrated the Spanish title with thousands of supporters in May, pledging to return in June with the Champions League trophy."The relationship between Madrid and the Champions League is legendary, mystical, and so it's very special," said Claudia, 23, while waiting for the team to arrive at Plaza Cibeles, where Madrid celebrate their trophy conquests with supporters.
Real Madrid lifted the trophy and may dominate for some time to come, while PSG are about to enter an uncertain era
Two-time Champions League winning coach Jose Mourinho arrived in Istanbul on Sunday to be unveiled as the new manager of Fenerbahce and was accorded a welcome fit for a popstar by the 19-times Turkish champions' fans."Good evening Fenerbahce fans, see you tomorrow at Kadikoy (the Istanbul suburb where the club is based) and let's start our journey together," Mourinho announced.
