    Disputed penalty in final minutes gives Whitecaps a 1-1 draw against Sounders

    Ryan Gauld scored on a penalty kick in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time, and the Vancouver Whitecaps salvaged a 1-1 draw with the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night. Gauld’s tying goal came following a lengthy video review where referee Victor Rivas and video official Pierre-Luc Lauziere determined Seattle defender Nouhou committed a handball inside the penalty area in the 90th minute. Gauld sent Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei the wrong direction with his left-footed shot for his fourth goal of the season.

    Lynn, Gallese make big plays late to help Orlando City beat Earthquakes 1-0

    Jack Lynn scored in the 89th minute and Pedro Gallese had four saves to help Orlando City beat the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 Saturday night. Pedro Gallese made a diving, one-hand save of a shot by Jack Skahan in the 88th minute and then, on the counter-attack, Lynn scored the winning goal. Iván Angulo raced down the left side and cut back to evade a defender near the corner of the area before playing an arcing cross to Martin Ojeda, whose volley redirected the ball to Lynn for the finish from the top of the 6-yard box.

    Arango, Gómez each score 2 goals, RSL rallies for 5-3 win over Rapids

    Cristian “Chicho” Arango and Andrés Gómez each scored two goal to help Real Salt Lake rally from a two-goal deficit and beat the Colorado Rapids 5-3 Saturday night. Real Salt Lake (8-2-4) is unbeaten in 10 consecutive games since a 2-1 loss to the Rapids on March 9 and leads the Western Conference with 28 points. Arango, who went into the game tied with Christian Benteke and Luis Suárez, leads MLS with 13 goals this season.

    Rodman scores 2 in Spirit's 4-2 win over Angel City and Kansas City remains unbeaten despite draw

    Trinity Rodman scored twice in the first half and the Washington Spirit went on to beat Angel City 4-2 on Saturday night in the National Women's Soccer League. All six goals came in the first half at Washington D.C.'s Audi Field, matching a league record for most goals in the opening half. Casey Krueger and Ouleymata Sarr also scored for the Spirit (7-3-0).
