Reynolds, Etzler named first-team All-Ohio

Basketball

COLUMBUS — Columbus Grove's Blake Reynolds and Crestview's Kalen Etzler were named to the first-team All Ohio in Division IV by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association Monday.

Ottoville's Josh Thorbahn was a second-team selection and Parkway's Dylan Hughes garnered third team honors.

Kalida's Luke Erhart, New Bremen's Reece Busse and Minster's Justin Nixon were special mention choices and Columbus Grove's Tayt Birnesser, Perry's Brayden Knight and Marion Local's Alex Eyink received honorable mention honors.

In Division III, Ottawa-Glandorf's Brennen Blevens was named to the second team and fellow Titan Owen Nichols made the third team. Lima Central Catholic's Rossy Moore was a honorable mention choice.

The Division I and II All-Ohio teams will be announced Tuesday, followed by the Ohio Mr. Basketball Award on Wednesday.

Baseball

Leipsic 13, McComb 0

MCCOMB — Leipsic's Trey Schroeder fired a no-hitter. In his seven innings of work, the Viking pitcher struck out 13 and walked five. Offensively for the Vikings Mason Brandt went 3 for 5 with 5 RBI and two runs scored Adrian Carillo drove in four runs.

Van Wert 6, Parkway 3

VAN WERT —Van Wert's Jacob Place went 4 for 4 with a run and an RBI and Aiden Pratt as 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI. Cougar hurler Luke Wessell went the distance, surrendered 10 hits while striking out four and walking one. For Parkway, Dylan Hughes and Brock Baltzell 2 for 4.

Hardin Northern 5, Upper Scioto Valley 3

DOLA — Hardin Northern's Brandon Henicle went 1 for 3 with two runs scored and Owen Wetherill scored twice. Polar Bear pitcher Preston Wykes went the distance and gave up three hits over seven innings of work while striking out 8 and walking none. Rams pitcher Chandler Leonard surrendered one hit over six innings of work while walking sic and striking out five. Leonard also drove in a run. Four of Hardin Northern's five runs came from players who either walked or reached base on an error.

Ottawa-Glandorf 10, Fort Jennings 1

OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf's Jake Balbaugh and Dylan Leopold combined on a three hitters while striking out 9 and walking two. Offensively for the Titans, Trevor Schimmoeller went 2 for 2 with three runs scored and Dylan Wagner went 2 for 3 while scoring a run and 3 RBI. Carter Schimmoeller drove in two runs.

St. Marys 5, New Bremen 1

NEW BREMEN — St. Marys' pitcher Ty Kiehl pitched a complete game two-hitter while striking out six and walking five. Offensively Adam Tobin, Dylan Trogdlon, Logan Hale and Tanner Howell all had two hits and Joey Caldwell, Howell and Braeden Trogdlon each drove in a run.

Minster 3, Wapakoneta 0

WAPAKONETA — Minster's Justin Nixon fired a three-hit shutout while fanning eight and walking two. Brady Heitkamp drove in two runs for the Wildcats. For Wapakoneta, Cooper Talowsky, Grant Bauer and Landon Brandt all had hits.

Delphos Jefferson 11, Miller City 1

DELPHOS — Delphos Jefferson's went 2 for 2 with a double and home run and drove in two while scoring three runs and Josh Wiseman went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI and one run scored. Wiseman also got the job done on the mound, going five innings, yielding six hits, striking out six and walking two.

Pandora-Gilboa 12, Cory-Rawson 2

PANDORA — Pandora-Gilboa's Jacob Maag went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and 2 RBI and Eli Huffman drove in two runs. Camden Teman had a triple and an RBI and Tommy Hovest went 2 for 4 with three runs scored and an RBI. The pitching trio of Drew Meyer, Maag and Hovest combined on a four hitter.

Kalida 11, Holgate 1

KALIDA — Kalida's Carson Klausing picked up his first varsity win by going five innings, striking out two and walkong none. At the plate Luke Erhart went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and Colin Hoffman was 2 for 4 with 3 RBI. Justin Siebeneck was 2 for 3 with two doubles and 3 RBI.

Arcanum 8, Marion Local 7

ARCANUM — Marion Local's Dylan Fleck had a double and a triple and drove in three runs and Braden Topp went 2 for4 with 2 RBI.

Softball

Elida 4, Bluffton 2

Elida hurler Leah Ramirez picked up the win after pitching a complete game while surrendering nine hits and two runs. She struck out five and walked two. Offensively for the Bulldogs, Erika Suever went 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI and Kyle Biglow had a double and an RBI. For Bluffton, Kennedi Jordan went 2 for 4 with a double, Ashley Fleece was 2 for 3 and an RBI and Dyllan Worcester was 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Fort Recovery 12, Lima Central Catholic 6

Fort Recovery's Sophia Pearson went 2 for 5 with 2 RBI and Abby Knapke went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. Cali Wendal scored twice and drove in two runs. For LCC, Sophia Luchini went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI and Kennedy Parker hit a home run and drove in two.

Hardin Northern 16, Upper Scioto Valley 15

DOLA —Hardin Northern's Blaire Hipsher went 3 for 5 with four runs scored and Paytin Pore drove in two runs and scored twice. Brenna Flowers had a triple and three runs scored and an RBI. Haylie Spearman had 12 strikeouts. Upper Scioto Valley's Briella Cotterman went 4 for 5 with 3 runs and 2 RBI and Jazmyn Ross was 3 for 5 with 3 RBI and one run scored.

Delphos Jefferson 16, Ottoville 2

OTTOVILLE — Delphos Jefferson's Kendall Schrader scattered five hits and struck out five in six innings to pick up the win. Offensively for the Wildcats. Avery Rahri went 3 for 4 with three doubles, three runs scored and 2 RBI and Anna Fitch was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Schrader also drove in two runs and Krystyn Moore went 2 for 4 with three runs scored and 1 RBI and Lillian Baughn had a double and a triple with two runs scored and an RBI.

Kalida 11, Holgate

KALIDA — Kalida's Emily buss went 3 for 4 with a home run and 3 RBI and two runs scored and Kassidy Hipsher went 3 for 4 with a triple and three runs scored. Mya Schmitz was 2 for 4 with a trible, an RBI and 3 runs scored.

Crestview 12, Kenton 5

CONVOY — Crestview's Bailey Gregor went 2 for 4 with two runs and 2 RBI and Kali Small went 2 for 3 with two runs and 3 RBI. Katelyn Castle was 2 for 3 with two runs and 2 RBI and Olivia Cunningham drove in two runs. Laci McCoy had two hits and scored twice. For Kenton, Brynn Butler and Lacie Nichols had two hits.

Ottawa-Glandorf 5, Wauseon 0

OTTAWA — Ottawa-Glandorf got singles wins from Carter Welch, Eli Schmenk and Sam Schroeder and doubles wins from the team of Jaden Lehman and Josh Walls and the duo of Hayden Kulhman and Bryant Schroeder.

Track and Field

Boys

Perry 73, Jackson Center 57, Calvary Christian 50.5, Ridgemont 49.5

Perry got wins from the 3,200 meter relay team, the 800 meter relay team and the 1,600 meter relay team. Individual winners for the Commodores were James Shorter (110m hurdles. 300m hurdles), Braden Yingst (800m, 3,200m) and Isaiah Cox (200m). For Ridgemont, Dominic Newland won the pole vault and the Golden Gophers won the 400 meter relay.

Girls

Jackson Center 90, Calvary Christian 52, Perry 41, Ridgemont 34

Perry got a first place finish from Alexa Burgess (800m). For Ridgemont, Amanda Howland took top honors in the pole vault, shot put and discus.
