Prince William Reacts to Harry's Engagement: 'I Hope It Means He Stays Out of My Fridge!'

Ina Garten isn’t the only one grateful for Meghan Markle’s culinary skills. Prince William said he hopes his brother’s engagement to the former Suits star means he’ll finally stay out of his family’s kitchen!

On the first day of his two-day visit to Finland on Wednesday, William was asked by reporters about Prince Harry‘s engagement news.

“We’re very excited, delighted for them both. We’re wishing them all the happiness in this very exciting time,” he said, hilariously adding: “Personally, I hope it means he stays out of my fridge and will stop scrounging my food, which he’s done for the last few years!”

Meghan is a self-proclaimed foodie, so we have no doubt she is keeping their cottage’s fridge fully stocked. She has been spotted walking around Prince Harry’s neighborhood in Kensington, carrying Whole Foods shopping bags (the health food store is a short stroll from the couple’s cottage).

Her cooking is a hit with her prince. He got down on one knee to propose while she was making them a roast chicken, after all! (Get the recipe from Ina Garten here.)

And instead of Harry running over to his brother and sister-in-law’s house for meals now, they can all sit down to home-cooked meals together. Harry and Meghan will be living in Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, just a few doors down from Will and Kate!

During a special briefing at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, officials revealed that the couple’s wedding will take place in May of next year at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. (The exact date has not yet been announced.) Kate Middleton, is due to welcome her third child just one month before. William and Kate’s own wedding date was also in the spring: April 29, 2011.
