Apr. 9—MANSFIELD — The Plymouth baseball team improved to 3-3 overall after three pitchers combined on a one-hit, 14-0 shutout win in five innings over host Mansfield Christian on Thursday in a non-league matchup.

Zeth Goth was 2 for 2 with a double, a triple and two RBIs to pace a 12-hit effort for the Big Red. Clayton Miller was 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored, while Zach Hamann was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and also scored twice.

Camden Welch tripled and drove in a run, while Carson Tucker singled and had two RBIs, and Josh Beebe, Ethan Gillum, and Cole Wentz each singled and had an RBI.

Tucker started and pitched the first two innings and struck out three with one walk and one hit. Trace McVeigh went the next two innings with three strikeouts, and Canaan Slone struck out two in a scoreless fifth inning.

The Big Red are at Clear Fork on Saturday and travel to Western Reserve on Monday in a Firelands Conference game.

WILLARD — The Crimson Flashes fell to 1-6 with Thursday's non-league loss to the visiting Redmen.

Austin Adelman doubled and had an RBI while walking three times to pace Willard, which hosted Norwalk on Friday. Dylan Thompson added a single and an RBI, while Ethan Rodriguez and Cooper Wiers each had one hit.
