For the third year in a row, Pace High School's Naval Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NJROTC) team has claimed the national title at the annual Navy JROTC academic, athletic and drill championship.

The competition, which was held in Pensacola, brought together NJROTC teams from across the nation to compete in a series of events designed to test their academic, athletic and military skills. These events included a written academic exam, a physical fitness challenge and drill competitions, which required the cadets to perform precision military drill in front of a panel of judges.

“Winning nationals this year, and for the third time in a row, meant a great deal to me," said Pace senior Sadie Resmondo. "Not only did I have the opportunity to start this winning streak my sophomore year, but I also got to finish my senior year knowing the legacy is living on. I’m beyond proud to say we are back to back to back national champs.”

The team's academic performance was particularly noteworthy, as they scored the second highest overall score as a team in the written exam, demonstrating their strong knowledge of naval history, leadership and other topics related to the military.

"I couldn't be prouder of our cadets," said 1st Sgt. John Baker, Navy JROTC instructor. "They have worked tirelessly to prepare for this competition, and their performance here is an example of who they are.  We are extremely proud to represent Pace High and continue our winning tradition."
