Jets' Negotiations with RFA Cole Perfetti Could be Challenging

No player on the 2023-24 Winnipeg Jets had more of a rollercoaster season than Cole Perfetti, who at 22 years old, completed his first fully healthy NHL season. The fluctuating nature of his season will make for an interesting offseason negotiation between Perfetti, his agent, and Jets' General Manager Kevin Cheveldayoff. Perfetti posted 19 goals, 19 assists, for 38 points in 71 games played. On the 2023-24 Jets, in per 60-minute stats (/60), he finished: Third in Primary assists/60 (0.89) Behind only Mark Scheifele and Nikolaj Ehlers.

Flames Could Target Another Young Forward in Jets' Perfetti

The Calgary Flames have made it clear time and time again that they are not rebuilding. Owner Murray Edwards is not interested in stripping things down and going through years of struggle. General manager Craig Conroy has acquired a ton of draft picks during his short time in the position, but has said he prefers acquiring young players who are already NHL calibre, or very close to being. One such player who fits that bill is Marco Rossi, who I recently discussed as a potential target for them this summer.

Namestnikov and Dillon out for Game 5 against Avs due to injuries as Jets face playoff elimination

Winnipeg forward Vladislav Namestnikov and defenseman Brenden Dillon are recovering from injuries and won't be available for Game 5 against Colorado on Tuesday night as the Jets try to avoid playoff elimination. Namestnikov fractured his cheekbone in Game 4 on Sunday when he was hit by a deflected puck on a shot. Dillon suffered a deep laceration on his hand in a scrum after the final horn of Game 3 when he appeared to be cut by a skate blade.
