Flames Could Target Another Young Forward in Jets' Perfetti

The Calgary Flames have made it clear time and time again that they are not rebuilding. Owner Murray Edwards is not interested in stripping things down and going through years of struggle. General manager Craig Conroy has acquired a ton of draft picks during his short time in the position, but has said he prefers acquiring young players who are already NHL calibre, or very close to being. One such player who fits that bill is Marco Rossi, who I recently discussed as a potential target for them this summer.

Perfetti's playoff debut comes at crunch time for Jets

Cole Perfetti wore his usual hockey jersey rather than a cape, and suited up in the dressing room instead of a phone booth. All of which is to say he's no superhero, swooping in to save the day for the Winnipeg Jets. “Obviously, I've wanted to play in a 'Whiteout' for a while and now I'm getting the chance to do that in a huge game,” Perfetti said a few hours prior to puck drop in Game 5 between the Jets and Colorado Avalanche at Canada Life Centre. Head coach Rick Bowness threw up the bat signal with his group on the brink of elimination after losing three straight games by a combined score of 16-5.

Namestnikov and Dillon out for Game 5 against Avs due to injuries as Jets face playoff elimination

Winnipeg forward Vladislav Namestnikov and defenseman Brenden Dillon are recovering from injuries and won't be available for Game 5 against Colorado on Tuesday night as the Jets try to avoid playoff elimination. Namestnikov fractured his cheekbone in Game 4 on Sunday when he was hit by a deflected puck on a shot. Dillon suffered a deep laceration on his hand in a scrum after the final horn of Game 3 when he appeared to be cut by a skate blade.
