    Teemu Selanne headlines 2017 Hall of Fame class

    On his first shot at the Hockey Hall of Fame, Teemu Selanne has scored, not surprising for someone who tallied 684 NHL goals. Joining the 10-time All-Star in Toronto are Selanne's longtime teammate Paul Kariya, Dave Andreychuk, Mark Recchi, Danielle Goyette, and in the builders category Clare Drake and Jeremy Jacobs.

    Winnipeg Jets announce development camp

    There is no rest for the wicked as the Winnipeg Jets are opening their development camp tomorrow at the Bell-MTS IcePlex. The camp roster includes players who made their NHL debuts this season including Jack Roslovic, Kyle Connor, and Nelson Nogier. The camp will also feature all the new draftees from this weekend. Not included is signed Finnish defenceman Sami Niku, but that could be tied to the fact that Finland still has compulsory military service for males and he might not have completed his yet.     Arvid Holm makes history for Karlskrona

    Arvid Holm, the Winnipeg Jets newest goalie prospect, is the first player ever drafted from his club in Sweden. This slightly surprising news goes to show that not all Swedish clubs have the ability to develop and keep those players through the draft. While Holm is the first player to be drafted from his Swedish, Karlskrona HK, there has been another player who has gone through their ranks before getting drafted and that is San Jose Sharks prospect defenceman Julius Bergman. While Bergman played with Karlskrona, he was drafted from Frolunda making Holm the first player to still be playing for Karlskrona when drafted.
