It is now official, the Montreal Canadiens have signed their fourth-round selection of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Sean Farrell, to a three-year entry-level contract (ELC). The 21-year-old left-winger from Hopkinton, Massachusetts decided it was time to leave his NCAA club Harvard University behind and join the professional ranks. Farrell is an intriguing player, who, despite his size, has shown elite levels of skill in many areas of the game that could prove to be very beneficial for a team in a rebuild.
Meanwhile, the Montreal Canadiens are just looking to finish a disappointing season in strong fashion. The Sabres aim for a third consecutive victory when they host the Canadiens on Mondaynight. With 10 games left in the regular season, Buffalo (35-31-6, 76 points) has a chance to post at least 40 wins for the first time since 2010-11. Buffalo is just 4-8-2 since Feb. 28, but two of those victories have come in the last two games.
The Montreal Canadiens are finally getting a little bit healthier, even though Josh Anderson recently went down for the remainder of the season with a high ankle sprain, and while management begins to shift their focus to their offseason to-do list, there's still plenty to play for over the final stretch. Justin Barron has taken his game to a new level since being recalled by the Habs in late December after a strong start to the season in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Laval Rocket. The 21-year-old has been one of Montreal's best defencemen during the second half of the year and has solidified his place in the team's top-six on the blue line.
