Robinson recalls being gifted Blackhawks jersey by his hockey idol Hull

Robinson thought about the jersey last week when news broke that Hull had died on Jan. 30 at age 84. On Friday, the 50th anniversary of his first NHL goal, the Hall of Fame defenseman pulled it on in his Florida home for a couple of photos, a large 19 on the back, ROBINSON lettered above it. The 71-year-old from the Ottawa Valley whistle-stop of Marvelville had last worn a Black Hawks sweater as a peewee, suiting up with a team from nearby Russell that was sponsored by the local Lion's Club.

NHL took skills showcase outside, McDavid shines inside

Sidney Crosby got dunked into a tank of water, Nick Suzuki holed a golf ball with a hockey stick and the NHL made hockey an outdoor sport for its skills showcase in South Florida. Two new events outside in the sun highlighted the league's annual skills competition at All-Star Weekend, with a handful of players taking turns hitting golf and hockey shots on a par-4 course and others shooting pucks at foam surfboards to dunk opponents with the beach in the background. Inside the Florida Panthers' home arena Friday night, Connor McDavid reminded fans and the other top players in the world why he leads the NHL in goals and is on pace to score more than 60.

    All-Time Finland-Born NHL Lineup

Not only has Finland been able to develop Hall-of-Fame-worthy talent, but they have also produced an impressive number of high-quality NHL and professional players from a nation of six million people. Most of the selected players and those who just missed the cut have won Stanley Cup championships, been named to All-Star teams, been nominated to the Hockey Hall of Fame (HHOF), and are on the 100 Greatest NHL Players list. Esa Tikkanen had a very productive career with several NHL franchises but is best known for his time with the Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers, where he won a total of five Stanley Cups with the two teams.
