Head coach Joe Judge looks to continue to build a winning program, but it will likely take another successful offseason from general manager Dave Gettleman in order for the Giants to take a step further in the 2021 season.
The New York Giants’ pass rush was much more prevalent in 2020 than they had been in recent years even though they had just four more sacks this year than they did last season. In 2019, the Giants racked up 36 sacks led by outside linebacker Marcus Golden, who had 10. This year, Golden was traded mid-season and defensive lineman Leonard Williams led the team with 11.5.
Entering the 2020 NFL draft, the New York Giants had a choice of several offensive tackle prospects including Andrew Thomas, Mekhi Becton, Jedrick Wills Jr. and Tristan Wirfs. Ultimately, the Giants went with Thomas, who was widely viewed as the most-NFL ready of the group, at No. overall.
