Raiders notified Andre James before taking Jackson Powers-Johnson in NFL Draft

The Las Vegas Raiders selected Oregon interior offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but before doing that, they notified their starting center, Andre James. Well, Powers-Johnson has been billed as a center throughout the pre-draft process after playing the position in college, so on the surface it would look like they were adding another one, which obviously would have been perceived as a threat to James, who just re-signed this offseason.
