According to The Denver Gazette’s Woody Paige, Denver Broncos General Manager George Paton has already made a call to the Atlanta Falcons about their 4th overall selection. He continues by saying that Paton can make this move if he’s willing to pay the price. With the Jaguars going Trevor Lawerence, the Jets going Zach Wilson and the 49ers potentially going Mac Wilson, that leaves Ohio State’s Justin Fields and/or North Dakota State’s Trey Lance there for the Broncos choosing.
The Atlanta Falcons are continuing to prepare as if they'll select with the No. pick in this year's draft, even amid a recent report from ESPN's Adam Schefter that suggested they were willing to part with it. Atlanta will send its full allocation of three staffers to Trey Lance's second Pro Day, which is set for Monday at North Dakota State, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
Players on five more NFL teams will be skipping in-person voluntary workouts because of the pandemic: the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers, the Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers. This weekend players from the other 16 clubs are expected to announce plans. The offseason sessions begin Monday, and on Wednesday the league sent a memo to all 32 teams saying the first four weeks of the voluntary program will be virtual.
