Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner is weighing in on the biggest offseason story in the NFL so far – the apparent rift between the Houston Texans and their Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson. Turner on Sunday tweeted that the city loves both the Texans and Watson and that he’s praying they can move forward together. Mayor Turner followed that up with another tweet later Sunday, saying how much he respects Watson as a player and a person and has seen how much he has done for this city.
So which high-profile quarterback is a better fit for the Jets, presuming they want to move on from Sam Darnold and don’t want to draft a quarterback? Well, the answer seems fairly simple. It’s Watson, even though his trade price would be higher — probably at least three first-round picks.
The Houston Texans got a good look at two of their coaching prospects in the AFC Championship Game in Eric Bieniemy and Leslie Frazier.
