Jesse James Takes a Swipe at Women’s Marchers — and Sandra Bullock?

Not every celeb was impressed by the millions of women who rallied for the women’s marches around the world on Saturday. Resident bad boy Jesse James took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the protesters. “Just imagine if ALL these women cared as much about the homeless and Vets in this country as they do about Themselves,” he posted to Twitter on Sunday afternoon.

While the tweet earned more than 7,500 likes in less than 24 hours, plenty of people took the television personality (and Sandra Bullock’s ex) to task for his commentary. “@FreeJesseJames just imagine if people like you cared enough for your spouse not to cheat on her….” one user wrote, prompting a seething response from the 47-year-old Monster Garage alum.

Instead of trying to quell the fire, he decided to fan the flames — and, in the process, took aim not at the woman who posted but seemingly at his famous ex-wife instead. “Ahhh cheating goes both ways sweetie,” he began. “Just because you got all teary eyed at some actress. Doesn’t mean she won’t cheat on her husband..”

Wait. Did Jesse James just imply that Sandra Bullock cheated on him? (ICYMI, the couple famously divorced in 2010 after he admitted to cheating on her with multiple women.) This passive-aggressive, possibly accusatory tweet was a far cry from statements he’d made about their breakup in the past.

“There is only one person to blame for this whole situation, and that is me,” he said when the news first broke — and years later he reiterated that he had taken full responsibility. “I had to stand up in front of the media and take full account for what I did and I took it all. I took 100 percent of it right on the chin. Nobody does that. Everybody denies it,” he explained.

The pair had been in the process of adopting a child together at the time of their split, and Bullock proceeded without James, which he has cited as the worst part of their separation. “I got divorced and lost a kid I adopted because of it,” he said in 2015. “Whether that’s fair, whether I should have lost a kid due to infidelity, which I don’t think anybody ever does.” Bullock’s son, Louis, arrived shortly after their divorce. Then in 2015, she added a daughter, Laila, to her family.

It’s a little unclear whether James was now intentionally implying that Bullock was also unfaithful or whether he was just blowing off steam, but one thing seems pretty certain: It’s unlikely any of the women who marched this weekend are going to take anything he says to heart.
