LEXINGTON, Ky. Alex Wolff’s basket with 52 seconds left was the game-winner as the Sacred Heart Academy basketball team beat Marshall County 49-47 in Saturday’s championship game of the Mingua Beef Jerky Sweet 16 at Rupp Arena. Sacred Heart (25-7) won its fourth state title and first since winning three in a row from 2002-04.
Josie Gilvin posted 19 points, 11 rebounds and five steals to lead the Sacred Heart Academy basketball team to a 63-53 victory over Anderson County on Saturday in the semifinals of the Mingua Beef Jerky Sweet 16 at Rupp Arena. Triniti Ralston added 13 points, four rebounds and three assists as the Valkyries (24-7) advanced to face the Henderson County-Marshall County winner in Saturday’s 8 p.m. state final.
