UMass was only able to produce three hits on the offensive side of the diamond, all of which came in the final two innings of the game. The most notable of the three hits was a home run from freshman pinch-hitter Max LeBlanc, who hit a solo shot in the top of the 8th inning. Sophomore Kevin Dow was the starter for the Minutemen in the opener, pitching just two innings before allowing four hits and two runs — one earned.

While BC didn’t have NHL first-round pick Alex Newhook for its dances with the Minutemen in November, UMass was without the services of top defenseman Marc Del Gaizo.
