NBA reject Kevin Porter Jr. has been spotted plying his trade in Greece, roughly six months after the Oklahoma City Thunder waived him following his domestic assault charge. Porter, who last played for the Houston Rockets during the 2022-23 NBA season, was arrested and charged by the NYPD for allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend and WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick in September, roughly a year after he signed a four-year, $82.5million contract extension. After his alleged attack on Gondrezick, of the Chicago Sky, the Rockets barred Porter from having any interaction with his teammates as front office executives feared the player's scandal would cause a distraction just a few weeks before the team's 2023-24 season opener against the Orlando Magic on October 25.
The Houston Rockets and Cleveland Cavaliers have been doing well in the past year. One of them is slowly ascending to shatter the dreams of a LeBron James and Stephen Curry matchup in the NBA play-ins while the other comfortably sits third in the Eastern Conference standings. A lot was on Kevin Porter Jr.'s plate last season. Since then, the Rockets sent him to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
