    Twins Close Spring Training With Win

    BRADENTON, FL – The Minnesota Twins closed their 2023 spring training schedule with a 7-5 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday at LECOM Park. Tyler Mahle pitched four innings, allowing a run and a hit while striking out three in his last start before the regular season. Kyle Farmer had two hits for the Twins (14-15-3), including a double. Carlos Correa and Max Kepler singled. The Twins will open the regular season Thursday against the Royals in Kansas City (2:30 PM Thursday, 1060/103.1 KGFX).

    Twins expect Jose Miranda at third on Opening Day

    In his first game back at third base this spring, Jose Miranda didn't have any groundball opportunities. In his second game, just one, so the infielder hasn't had much of a chance to really test out his sore right shoulder in game action. Miranda spent most of the spring serving as the team's designated hitter before only recently starting to play the field again. “Obviously I'm not going to say it feels incredible, 100 percent right now, but it's going to keep improving,” Miranda said.

    Minnesota Twins fans will be greeted with a lot of newness in and around Target Field this season, starting at the entry gate. "The best thing for a fan is you're going to be able to get into the ballpark quicker," Dave St. Peter, President and CEO of the Minnesota Twins, said. The Twins have partnered with Evolv Technology to provide new express security screening where there is no need to stop, empty pockets or remove bags. "As long as you don't have a weapon you can walk right into the venue without breaking stride at the pace of life and you go from the street to your seat," Peter George, President and CEO of Evolv Technology, said.
