Ty France and the Seattle Mariners never left Texas with a win last season. France and Urías hit two-run homers and Luis Castillo pitched six solid innings in a 4-3 win Thursday to take two of three in a stadium where the Mariners had lost eight games in a row, including all six last season.
As Ty France left the visitors clubhouse of the Rogers Centre late Monday evening, he looked like a weary traveler who needed to find a bed as soon as possible before a bed or a couch or a chair or a floor found him. On Saturday at 6:18 p.m., France and his wife, Maggie, welcomed their first child to the world, a healthy baby boy they named Luka Tyler. France is not a Dallas Mavericks fan and didn't name his son after All-Star guard Luka Doncic. “That's the only guy I could think of with that name,” France said.
The Seattle Mariners activated first baseman Ty France from the paternity list, and called up relievers Brett de Geus and Tyson Miller from Triple-A Tacoma for needed bullpen depth ahead of their series with the Toronto Blue Jays.
