    Tupelo honors local pitcher after World Series win

    TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — Texas Rangers pitcher Chris Stratton got a key to his hometown in honor of the team winning its first World Series. Mayor Todd Jordan and other city officials hosted Stratton at City Hall on Thursday. The mayor also issued a proclamation recognizing November 9 as Chris Stratton Day. He played baseball for Tupelo High School and for Mississippi State University before being drafted into the major leagues.
