Medford house fire prompts reroutes for Griffin Creek Elementary pickups
Oct. 26—Local fire crews doused a blaze Wednesday at a single-story home at 2590 South Stage Road and evacuated everyone to safety, according to the Medford Fire Department.
Firefighters were able to "quickly gain access to the building" and extinguish the blaze, the agency posted on its Facebook page. No injuries were reported.
Investigators were on scene Wednesday working to determine a cause.
Parents of Griffin Creek Elementary School students were advised to be prepared for extra delays after the nearby structure fire temporarily closed the standard route.
Parents and guardians were instructed to take Dark Hollow Road to Pioneer Road to Griffin Creek Road in order to pick up their kids from school after the fire closed South Stage Road at the Griffin Creek intersection.
