Maria Menounos Looks Back on Her New Year’s Eve Wedding: “I Was Bridezilla for a Solid Two Minutes"
What a way to ring in every new year! Maria Menounos reflected back on her televised New Year’s Eve nuptials this week, marveling at the magic of her wedding day.
“#nye will always be a celebration for us! What a magical night,” she captioned a series of photos from the New Year’s Eve celebration in an Instagram post Wednesday. “Thank you to everyone who helped make it possible…to everyone who helped in Big and small ways.”
Menounos, 39, then rattled off a handful of people who helped to make her unique wedding day possible, including her best friend, Alyssa Wallerce, for being “the best maid of honor ever,” and Steve Harvey “for getting ordained & performing our marriage.” The TV host also thanked Pronovias for providing a “gorgeous winter wonderland gown” and “all the people who shared in our moment and loved on us.”
“It was unreal,” Menounos said of the live television broadcast on her SiriusXM show. The personality felt as if they didn’t have enough time to swap outfits between sets, even with what seemed like ample buffer periods. “We were struggling. I was bridezilla for a solid two minutes there…” she said, while mimicking the tense situation (“I’m going to miss the wedding!” she yelled at one point).
“And having to surprise my family,” she reflected on the radio program, “keep it secret, and somehow get them to dress appropriately from 3,000 miles away…”

In retrospect, Menounos was simply thankful that it came together. “It took a village,” she continued on Instagram. “If I’m forgetting anyone forgive me-i will rectify in another post! Hahah Honestly I don’t know how to properly thank This next person, what a dream come true for @jonbonjovi to perform our first dance song. I bawled watching it all over again last night. For him to take the time, for his musicians & roadies to take the time to do this for me-I’m just beyond thankful. Beyond moved. God bless you jon. I’m here for you always, forever and a day.”
In one particularly stunning photo, Menounos and her husband, Keven Undergaro, pose on the elevated platform in Times Square with their parents, who look ecstatic and bundled up to brace against the cold.
Menounos and Undergaro, 51, got engaged in March 2016 on The Howard Stern Show.
