Man killed, woman in critical condition after Upton shooting Sunday afternoon, Baltimore Police say

A man is dead and a woman is in critical condition after being shot Sunday afternoon in West Baltimore, according to police.

Officers investigating the shooting in the 1100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in the Upton neighborhood shortly before 4:30 p.m. found a 24-year-old woman and Juan Hill, a 32-year-old man, suffering from gunshot wounds, Baltimore Police said in a news release.

The woman had been shot in the head, and Hill had been shot in the chest, police said. Both were taken to hospitals in serious condition.

Hill died of his injuries later Sunday evening, police spokesperson Vernon Davis said, adding that the woman was unstable and in critical condition.
