Man sentenced in rape, sexual abuse of child in Wicomico County

A Wicomico County man was sentenced to 45 years in prison for sex abuse and rape of a minor.

Ezequiel Rosado-Arriaga, 47, was sentenced Jan. 5 by Wicomico County judge Kathleen L. Beckstread.

Rosado-Arriaga was convicted Oct. 18 last year of sexual abuse of minor, two counts of second-degree rape and related offenses after a two-day jury trial, Wicomico County State's Attorney's office said in a release Friday.

Beckstead sentenced Rosado-Arriaga to 45 years in prison with all but 35 years suspended. Upon his release from prison, Rosado-Arriaga will be placed on five years of supervised probation and subject to lifetime registration as a Tier III sex offender.

According to the release, Rosado-Arriaga sexually abused a minor in his home from November 2018 to August 2021. The child was 11 years old when the abuse began.

State’s Attorney Jamie L. Dykes commended Detective D. Schultz of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office, who was the lead investigator, and the Wicomico County Child Advocacy Center Child Protective Services worker/Forensic Interviewer for their work in the investigation.
