Jun. 16—Justin Grant won the USAC National Non-Wing Sprint Car Series race and Jared Umbenhauer earned the 358 modified victory during Tuesday's Thunder on the Hill event at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville.

Grant, who is from Ione, Calif., earned $6,000 for his victory in the 40-lap Jesse Hockett Classic. It was his first win in the USAC's Eastern Storm swing, which began in 2007.

He started from the pole and held off Brady Bacon, who had won the last four USAC races at the Thunder on the Hill.

"Wins are hard," Grant said per a press release. "I was hustling every lap. This is a place I've struggled at, so it's great to score a win."

Tanner Thorson finished third, followed by Kevin Thomas Jr., Robert Ballou, Briggs Danner, Chris Windom, Alex Bright, Tim Buckwalter, Matt Westfall.

In the 30-lap modified feature, Umenbauer earned $3,000 for his first Thunder on the Hill victory.

He took the lead from Jack Butler on the sixth lap and maintained it following a restart on Lap 13 to cruise to the win.

Jeff Strunk was second, followed by Craig Von Dohren, Doug Manmiller, Mike Gular, Brett Kressley, Jack Butler, Alex Yankowski, Ryan Watt and Duane Howard.
