Floyd said she saw a need to open a children's boutique in Houma that offers brands and styles she couldn't find locally.

"I was traveling almost every weekend out of town to go and purchase these items, and, you know, I jokingly said to my husband one day, 'We should open one in Houma,' " she said. "He has a very, just, go-forward attitude, which is great and allows me to follow my dreams."

She describes the clothing styles at her store as classic, traditional and "Southern sweet."

The boutique also offers stork rentals, which are yard ornaments for baby announcements, as well as gifts and gift baskets for purchase for new parents and to help welcome home a new baby.

"That's one of my favorite things is the relationships that I've built with my customers. They've almost become like friends and family. It's so sweet to help a family welcome home a new baby," she said.
