    Jazz, justice and Juneteenth: Wynton Marsalis and Bryan Stevenson join forces to honor Black protest

    Black music traditions such as jazz are central to celebrations of Juneteenth, says civil rights lawyer and jazz pianist Bryan Stevenson. Along with a new arrangement of saxophonist John Coltrane’s “Alabama,” which pays homage to the four Black girls killed when the Ku Klux Klan bombed Birmingham’s 16th Street Baptist Church in 1963, the project includes original compositions by up-and-coming bassist Endea Owens and trumpeter Josh Evans.

    Cybersecurity startup Huntress valued at over $1.5 billion after latest funding

    Huntress, the small business-focused cybersecurity startup founded by former hackers for the U.S. government, was valued at over $1.5 billion after raising $150 million in its latest funding round. Venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins, late-stage tech investor Meritech Capital and Huntress' existing backer Sapphire Ventures led the round, the company said on Tuesday. Huntress raised more than double the amount, compared with its fundraising in May 2023, as cybersecurity continues to attract funding from venture capital firms.
