Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint arrested for reckless driving

Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Athens, Georgia for reckless driving and speeding, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department confirmed to USA TODAY Sports.

According to an incident report, Rosemy-Jacksaint was pulled over in the 2600 block of Atlanta Highway at 3:18 p.m for "weaving through traffic while going at a high rate of speed" in a black Dodge Charger. Arresting officer Shawn Denmark said Rosemy-Jacksaint was going 90 mph in a 45 mph zone.

"Once I was able to catch up to the vehicle, I initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint," Denmark wrote in his incident report obtained by USA TODAY Sports. "He provided me with a valid driver's license and I advised him to step out of the vehicle. I placed him in custody."

Rosemy-Jacksaint was booked into Clarke County Jail at 4:33 p.m. and released less than an hour later after posting $2,000 bond for both misdemeanor charges, according to online booking records.

Rosemy-Jacksaint is at least the fourth Bulldog arrested for reckless driving-related charges this year alone.

Georgia wide receiver De’Nylon Morrisette was arrested earlier this month for driving under the influence of drugs, driving too fast for conditions, driving after curfew and following too closely after he was involved in a crash.

Former Bulldog Jalen Carter, who was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles with the ninth overall pick last month, was arrested for reckless driving and street racing in March. The charges stem from a Jan. 15 car crash that resulted in the death of Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting assistant Chandler LeCroy, who were believed to be racing Carter after the team celebrated their national championship win over TCU.

Carter pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges and received one year of probation. Willock's father Dave filed a $40M wrongful death civil lawsuit against Carter, the University of Georgia Athletic Association and others earlier this month.

Linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson was arrested for street racing and reckless driving on Jan. 10, just five days before the car crash that killed LeCroy and Willock.
