Fort Worth drug trafficker sentenced to federal prison for dealing meth and pills

A Fort Worth drug trafficker has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, officials said.

Juan Carlos Perez, 20, pleaded guilty in February to dealing drugs, according to a news release. A federal judge handed down the 10-year sentence on Friday, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas.

Court records show Perez admitted conspiring to deal methamphetamine and meth-laced counterfeit pills, the release said.

Officials found several photos and videos of narcotics, firearms and U.S. currency on Perez’s phone, according to the release. Law enforcement officials also recovered eight firearms from his apartment, including a Glock pistol stolen from a Tarrant County detention officer.
