The end of the NFL’s regular season means the Kansas City Chiefs know who they will face in the 2022 season, and while a lot can happen before September, it looks to be a tough slate of games.
For starters, the Chiefs will face five quarterbacks who finished in the top six in passing yards in the 2021 season (Tom Brady, Justin Herbert, Matthew Stafford, Derek Carr and Joe Burrow). The other player in the top six is the Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes.
Other quarterbacks who will face the Chiefs in the 2022 season include Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, Russell Wilson and Ryan Tannehill.
Eat Drink And Sleep Football determined the Chiefs will have the fifth-most difficult schedule next season.
AFC West teams will be matched with teams from the NFC West, meaning the Chiefs will face three playoff teams: the Cardinals, Rams and 49ers, along with the Seahawks.
The Chiefs also will face the AFC South teams: Titans, Colts, Texans and Jaguars. Because the Chiefs won the West, they will play the other two AFC division winners: the Bengals and Bills.
As always, the Chiefs will take on each AFC West team twice. The 17th game, which was added in the 2021 season, will have the Chiefs playing on the road against the winner of the NFC South. That’s the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, meaning the Chiefs will make another trip to Raymond James Stadium, the site of Super Bowl LV.
Here is the home/away breakdown of the Chiefs’ 2022 schedule. The NFL will announce dates and times in the spring.
