Broncos FB Janovich signs three-year extension

Denver Broncos fullback Andy Janovich signed a three-year contract extension through the 2022 season, the team announced Friday.

The contract is worth $5.7 million with a signing bonus of $1.35 million and total guarantees of $3.22 million, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.

Janovich has appeared in 45 games since being selected by the Broncos in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

"Andy has developed into one of the best fullbacks in the league," general manager John Elway said. "He's exactly what you look for in a fullback -- tough, reliable and a versatile part of not only the offense but also our special teams. It's nice to see how Andy's hard work has paid off, and we look forward to his continued impact on the Broncos."

Janovich helped pave the way for running back Phillip Lindsay to become the first undrafted offensive rookie to be selected the Pro Bowl in 2018.

The 26-year-old Janovich, who has yet to record a single carry in two games this season, has rushed 12 times for 50 yards with two touchdowns in 45 career contests with the Broncos. He also has 17 catches for 191 yards and a receiving touchdown.

Janovich, who also has 16 tackles on special teams in his career, sat out the first three games of this season while recovering from a torn pectoral muscle.
