The Great British Bake Off has confirmed the new series will air this month.

The first episode of the beloved baking show will return to Channel 4 at 8pm on September 26.

The anticipated start date was announced on Bake Off’s official social media channel, with a new teaser image of the show’s judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood, alongside hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond.

“Bake a date in your diaries,” teased the caption. “Join Paul, Prue, Noel and Alison on Tuesday 26th September for the return of The Great British Bake Off. #GBBO”

Alison Hammond will make her presenting debut on the show in season 14, alongside Fielding. The This Morning star was announced as a new co-host back in March, after Matt Lucas announced he was stepping down from his presenting role last December.

Viewers got their first glimpse of Alison in action in a teaser trailer, which dropped in late August.

The clip showed stereotypical baking ingredients such as eggs, butter, flour and raspberries bravely embarking on an epic journey to the tent, where they are transformed into the iconic chocolate and raspberry cake that appears on the show's opening titles.

The chocolate cake isn't around for long though, as we see Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith going in for a bite alongside Noel and Alison.

Viewers won't have to wait too much longer to see all four Bake Off stars in action, with the release date just under two weeks away.

Channel 4 has yet to confirm the contestants appearing in the upcoming series.

The Great British Bake Off airs on Channel 4 in the UK. In the US, it's known as The Great British Baking Show, and streams on Netflix.
