Alex Trebek's Daughter Praises Late Host Following Final Jeopardy! Episode

"You were extraordinary!!!"

After 37 seasons, the final Jeopardy! episode with Alex Trebek at the podium aired on Friday evening.

In tribute to the longtime host who died from pancreatic cancer in November, the show featured a montage of clips showing his most memorable moments throughout the years.

Trebek pre-recorded his final episodes in October. His last day in the studio was October 29, just 10 days before he died. Jeopardy! will now be led by a series of interim guest hosts until a permanent replacement is named.

In an interview with Today, Jeopardy! executive producer Mike Richards reflected on the television icon's final days in the studio, referring to him as "an absolute warrior."

Amongst those who tuned in to Trebek's last appearance on the beloved gameshow was his daughter, Nicky. On Friday, the 55-year-old singer-songwriter and fashion designer dedicated an Instagram post to her late dad.

"You were extraordinary!!!" she wrote alongside a screenshot of a previous Facebook post exclaiming "Jeopardy! Forever!"

Nicky is the oldest of Trebek's three children. She is the daughter of his first wife, broadcaster Elaine Callei. Trebek adopted her during his marriage to her mother.

Trebek married Jean Currivan in 1990. They have two children, Matthew and Emily.
