Twins-Angels postponed to Thursday

Wednesday night's game between the Minnesota Twins and Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim, Calif., was postponed due to wet field conditions.

Heavy rains throughout the day stopped before the scheduled start time -- which had been pushed back an hour -- but the field remained wet and waterlogged, leading to the game being called. The Angels had been rained out just twice before, in 1995 and 2015.

The finale of the three-game series will be made up Thursday afternoon, when both teams were scheduled to be off. Minnesota heads home to host the Chicago White Sox in a three-game set beginning Friday, while the Angels welcome the Texas Rangers for three games.

The Twins won the first two games of the series, giving them seven victories in their last eight contests.
