William Nylander — who missed the first three playoff games against the Boston Bruins with an undisclosed ailment — is expected back in the Maple Leafs lineup tonight. “There's a reason why (Robertson) is remaining in,” said Leafs coach Sheldon Keefe.
The Boston Bruins goalie made an incredible split glove save on a shot by Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nicholas Robertson during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference First Round at TD Garden. With the game tied 2-2 in the third period, Robertson picked up the rebound off teammate Pontus Holmberg's leg and took a shot down low.
Dylan Larkin scored on a power play 41 seconds into overtime and the Detroit Red Wings overcame Auston Matthews' 69th goal of the season to beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-4 on Saturday night. Alex DeBrincat scored twice, David Perron had a goal and an assist, Simon Edvinsson also scored and J.T. Compher had two assists for Detroit, which led 4-1 after one period.
