    The Nashville Predators picked up a season-saving 2-1 win on the road against the Vancouver Canucks in Game 5 of the first round,  and Alex Carrier's go-ahead goal in the third period gave Nashville the win. “Yeah, I think great pass by Gus (Gustav Nyquist) going low to high, and then I just saw traffic and through the middle just shot it, Jos (Roman Josi) said it was hardest shot he's seen of his life so, just happy it went in,” Alex Carrier said, via Alex Daugherty of the Tennessean.

    Hughes, Josi, Makar finalists for Norris Trophy

    Kristen Shilton is a national NHL reporter for ESPN. Quinn Hughes, Roman Josi and Cale Makar are finalists for this year's Norris Trophy, the NHL announced on Wednesday. The Norris is awarded annually to the "defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position." This is the first Norris Trophy nomination for Hughes, who paced all NHL defensemen this season in assists (75) and points (92) along with 17 goals in 82 games while carrying 24:41 TOI per night.
