    Special team woes lead Griffins to lose in Danielson's debut in Game 2 against Milwaukee

    Despite much excitement surrounding the debut of one of the Detroit Red Wings' top prospects, the ongoing power play struggles hurt the Grand Rapids Griffins on Monday night. The Griffins hardly got anything going with the man advantage in Game 2 of the Central Division Finals, falling to the Milwaukee Admirals 5-2. The Griffins got into some penalty trouble early, giving the Admirals three chances on the man advantage in the first period.

    Red Wings send Nate Danielson to Griffins

    Danielson's WHL team, the Portland Winterhawks, just lost in the final round of the playoffs. It's an unfortunate end to Nate Danielson's postseason, but he dominated in just about every aspect of the game during Portland's playoff run — 24 points (7-17–24) in 18 games. It's been a season of growth for the former ninth-overall selection… Danielson was traded to Portland during the regular season. Since making the move from the Brandon Wheat Kings, Danielson seems to have flourished with better talent around him.

    The Portland Winterhawks a within a win of the Western Hockey League championship series after a 5-2 win over the Prince George Cougars Wednesday night at the Coliseum.
