It's not a done deal that Jeff Fisher will be the next head coach of the St. Louis Rams. In fact, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has it that the team will be interviewing 39-year-old Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Dennis Allen on Thursday to see if he'd be right for the position.
Allen in his first year as a coordinator after nine years on NFL coaching staffs with the New Orleans Saints and New England Patriots, will join Fisher and Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton as the only men interviewed for the spot.
The Denver Post notes that the success of the Broncos, who will face off against the Patriots in the playoffs this weekend after another unbelievable win orchestrated by Tim Tebow, has the team's coordinators as popular coaching targets for other franchises. Offensive coordinator Mike McCoy is being considered for the head-coaching spot that's open with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
