NFL - Scoop Du Jour

The Cincinnati Bengals have made a move to sign controversial wide receiver Terrell Owens(notes) and expects a decision within 48 hours, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that the St. Louis Rams decided at a coaches meeting Monday not to go after Owens, which kills a potential bidding war for his services.

Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer(notes) worked out with Owens in California over the summer, and he and receiver Chad Ochocinco(notes) are lobbying Bengals brass to sign T.O., the Post-Dispatch reports.

It doesn't look like Owens will be making close to the $6.5 million he made with the Buffalo Bills last year.
